The Acra 22120ACH Precision Gap Bed Engine Lathe is engineered to deliver superior performance and reliability. The bed, crafted from Meehanite cast iron, is induction hardened (HS70°) and precision ground, ensuring maximum stability and vibration dampening. The precision hand-scraped removable gap and foot brake further enhance the lathe's versatility and ease of use.
At the heart of the lathe is a universal gearbox with oil bath lubrication and heat-treated gears, enabling the cutting of inch, metric, module, and diametrical threads with exceptional precision. The output shaft features a safety pin for added protection.
The apron and saddle are equipped with both manual and automatic lubrication systems, efficiently distributing oil to the bedways and cross slide. An overload protection device safeguards the machine from potential damage, while the hardened and precision-ground cross slide ensures smooth, accurate movement. The cross slide screws are hardened and constantly bathed in oil for optimal performance and longevity.
The spindle, supported by three precision P-grade taper roller bearings, is dynamically balanced, hardened, and precision ground. With a D1-11 spindle nose and a generous 4.09" spindle bore, the lathe can accommodate a wide range of workpieces.
